What user roles are available and what can each do?
Understand the difference between admin, staff, and client roles in MyOnlineSeller, and which actions each role can take.
MyOnlineSeller uses three roles to control what each person can see and do: admin, staff, and client. Choosing the right role for each team member keeps sensitive data, billing controls, and destructive actions limited to the people who need them.
The three roles at a glance
Admin (warehouse)
Full access to the warehouse portal: orders, inventory, billing, integrations, team management, and account settings. Use this role for warehouse owners, operations leads, and finance staff who need to see everything.
Staff (warehouse)
Operational access with granular, tab-level permissions. You can grant or revoke individual tabs — for example, allow access to Orders and Inventory but hide Billing. Ideal for pickers, packers, and receiving clerks.
Client
Sees only their own company's data inside the client portal — their orders, inventory, invoices, returns, and integrations. Clients never see other clients or the warehouse's internal billing.
Comparing common actions
- View and ship orders — admin and staff (if Orders tab enabled) can; clients can view their own orders only.
- Edit billing rates and send invoices — admin only.
- Connect a store integration — admin only on the warehouse side; clients can connect their own stores in the client portal.
- Invite team members — admin only.
- Pause or close the account — account owner only.
