What should I do in my first week as a new warehouse?
A practical checklist for your first seven days: invite your team, add a test client, connect an integration, and run an end-to-end test order before going live.
Use this checklist for your first seven days. Each item takes 5–15 minutes, and by the end you'll have a fully-tested account ready for real client volume.
Don't skip the test order at the end — it's the single best way to catch configuration issues before they affect a real customer.
Days 1–2: Account foundation
- Complete the onboarding checklist on your Admin Dashboard.
- Invite your team and assign roles (Admin for managers, Staff for floor workers).
- Add all your warehouse locations under Settings → Warehouses.
- Set your default carriers and shipping services under Settings → Shipping.
Days 3–4: First client setup
- Add a test client (you can use your own email).
- Configure their billing rates: per-order fee, per-item fee, and any storage or receiving fees.
- Connect a test integration (Shopify is fastest if you have a development store).
- Send a test inbound shipment from the client portal and receive it in.
Days 5–7: End-to-end test
- Place a test order in your connected store (or create one manually under Orders → Create Order).
- Pick, pack, and ship it — generate a real label or use a void test label.
- Confirm tracking syncs back to the store and the customer notification sends.
- Generate a draft invoice for the test client to verify your billing math is correct.
You're ready when…
Your test order shipped successfully, tracking synced back to the store, and your test invoice shows the correct totals. You can now confidently onboard your first real client.
