How does ShipStation sync work?
ShipStation syncs both ways: orders flow in from your stores via ShipStation, and tracking flows back out automatically once labels are created.
ShipStation syncs in both directions. Orders flow into the platform from any store ShipStation is connected to, and tracking numbers from labels created here are pushed back to ShipStation and on to the original store.
What syncs from ShipStation
New orders pulled into ShipStation from your connected stores are imported into the platform within a few minutes, including customer details, line items, shipping address, and any tags or notes.
What syncs back to ShipStation
When you ship an order on the platform, the tracking number, carrier, and ship date are written back to ShipStation. ShipStation then forwards that information to the original store (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) so the customer receives a notification.
Pushing products to ShipStation
ShipStation does not provide an API for creating products directly. The platform works around this by including new products on the next outbound order push, which causes ShipStation to recognize them automatically.
Connecting ShipStation
Add ShipStation as a shipping integration from Admin Settings. You will need your ShipStation API key and secret, which can be generated in your ShipStation account settings.
